Build it square, build it strong! Build it curved, build it sticky! Build it together, build it big! Build it WOW!
In the revamped Build It WOW! Exhibit, children have the opportunity to learn how different shapes form the basic building blocks of more complicated structures. At different building stations, children can learn about geometry, spatial relationships, balance, and stability. Visitors can also explore different ways objects can connect to each other. While creating, children practice the skills of imagining, planning, executing, and modifying ideas which sets an early foundation for STEM learning.
The Build It WOW! Exhibit is on display through September 2017 and is generously sponsored by Anne M. Larsen, State Farm Agent.

Jack and the Beanstalk is a comedic interpretation of the well-known classic tale. The story tells about jack, a widow's son who is very forgetful. He sells their cow for beans instead of food and drives his poor mother crazy. But in the end Jack makes friends with the giant and all is well.
A fun story that teaches a lesson about patience as well as the concept that one might find friends in the most unlikely places. A delightful musical participatory experience, which will captivate the imagination as the audience actually becomes part of the play. Only $8.00 per ticket !

March 29th School Day Out Art Camp
In this class, we'll celebrate Spring with the color of growth and renewal! Students will examine famous artworks that have centered around this hue and learn about the symbolism behind the color. Students will also learn about complementary and analogous colors and discover the wide range of hues in the green color family. They will then create age appropriate artworks utilizing what they have learned using drawing and painting materials.
Students will create unique artworks using different types of silhouettes. We'll take a look at different artists who have used this subject matter, such as Kara Walker, Banksy, and Magritte and examine the ways silhouettes were used historically and in modern times. Students will learn about positive and negative space and use drawing, painting and collage materials to create their own super silhouettes to take home!
An evening of looking to the stars and discovering the wonders of the universe. This event creates a fun learning environment for the whole family and inspires the next generation of astronomy enthusiasts! All outside activities are free to the public, and discounted admission is available for those wishing to explore the Discovery Center and Science On a Sphere inside.
March 30th School Day Out Art Camp
