Starting this year, our Denver Actor’s Academy Program will have its own brand new performing arts center. Our new space, being custom built at 2391 South Delaware Street just south of Evans and west of Broadway, will have its own:
Main Stage Theater with 26 foot ceilings

We The Actor’s Academy for the Performing Arts offers year round (late Sept-late April) training programs, designed to give the committed youth actor intensive and specialized training in the performing arts.
We are the ONLY year round youth performing arts conservatory in Denver offering opportunities for in depth training in the performing arts as well as elaborate performance opportunities with live musicians and full production elements designed by professional theatre artists.
AAPA is composed of more serious and committed student actors who have some prior performance experience. All students must audition into the program.
Location: Rehearsals take place in Denver at our rehearsal spaces near D.U.Performances take place at professional local theatres.

Key AAPA Program Components that you won’t find anywhere else in the Front Range.
Majors Classes – Choice of intensive weekly classes in dance or acting or private voice lessons to deepen skills in a performing arts specialty of choice. Majors happen on weekdays.
Theatre Lab – Performing arts training with emphasis on workshops, creative process and ensemble work during weekends. (i.e. weeks 1-3 Physical Theater, weeks 4-6 Original Work, weeks 6-8 Method Acting, etc.)
Company Show – Our large scale production with live musicians and full production elements designed by professional theatre artists. See below for a slide show of prior year’s Company Show. In previous years, we have featured a five piece rock band, aerial acrobatics, and professional fight choreography.

Munchkins Company (Grades 1-3)

Introduce your child to the world of theater in a safe non-competitive environment where both process and product are equally stressed. Students are introduced to all areas of the performing arts including voice, dance, speech and acting. The schedule will go as follows: Wednesdays are spent on introducing the basic principles of acting and rehearsing for our showcases and Saturdays are spent in voice and dance class. Two age appropriate showcases per year are performed by the troupe.
Junior Company (Grades 3–5)

This program will introduce students to the fundamentals of the performing arts. Students will receive training in acting, voice and dance. They will additionally be prepared for a winter show and spring showcase. The fall is spent learning valuable skills in scene study, musical theater and character work through our intensive rehearsal process which leads up to the winter show. The winter will then be spent doing a Theatre Lab where a diverse performing arts curriculum will be introduced.
Intermediate Performance Company (Grades 5–7)

Our focus with this group is to build a strong diverse ensemble of student performers. The ideal student for this company is one who has had some performance experience and enjoys many aspects of performance. The focus on building strong performance skills and activating confidence in stage presence will be emphasized with our thorough and intensive Theatre Lab. Additionally, participation in the winter “Company Show” will help to strengthen students’ discovery of the craft of acting and character development.
Senior Company (Grades 7–9)

This company will help to provide students with the tools necessary to become confident performers. A strong emphasis will be placed on acting and creating a strong foundation of body awareness and relationship with others on the stage. Proper voice and dance technique will be equally emphasized. Students will engage in an intense and creative rehearsal process in preparation for our “Company Show”. Students will also receive training in auditioning and balancing all of their skills in the many areas of the performing arts.
AAPA Ensemble (Grades 9 – 12)

The AAPA Ensemble holds the name of the Academy because it is the most elite group of students in our studios. This tight knit group establishes a strong ensemble where deep college preparatory work will be undertaken in a comfortable but driven environment. Experience in performance and scene analysis is required.
TUITION: Each program costs a monthly tuition fee depending on the program to be paid over the course of 8 months as our season runs from September thru April.
